43d AMOG supports Battalion Mass Tactical Exercise

POPE ARMY AIRFIELD, N.C. — C-17 Globemaster IIIs from the 62nd Airlift Wing at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., and the 437th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., sit on Green Ramp here at sunrise Nov. 28, awaiting loads of paratroopers from the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division during a Battalion Mass Tactical Exercise. Airmen in the 43d Air Mobility Operations Group here are supporting air and ground crews from several Air Mobility Command units during the exercise, providing operations, maintenance, Aerial Port, fuels, ground equipment and other support. Airlift at Pope Field is provided through the Joint Airborne/Air Transportability Training program — or JA/ATT — giving Airmen opportunities to train for real-world airlift operations with other services.
