Maj. Kisha Wood, a medic with the 375th Medical Group based at Scott Air Force Base, assists an elderly patient after Hurricane Maria at Henry E. Soon after hurricanes struck the Caribbean and southern U.S. in the fall of 2017, Air Force medics deployed to the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands and brought along their Trusted Care culture to help evacuate patients safely and effectively from the storm ravaged island.

The Air Force Surgeon General announced the recipients of the Air Force Medical Service 2016 individual and team Annual Awards recently. Included in this year's award winners were several Airmen who are part of the 43d Air Mobility Operations Group at Pope Field.
