Colonel Steven D. Randle

Colonel Steven D. Randle is the Commander, 5th Combat Weather Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  As commander, he leads two Combat Weather Squadrons comprised of 503 Airmen across 17 locations throughout the United States providing direct weather support to US Army operations.  The 3d Combat Weather Squadron and 18th Combat Weather Squadron provide mission-tailored weather information to 2 Corps, 8 Divisions, and 37 Brigades to help plan, coordinate, and execute the supported ground commander’s scheme of maneuver.  Furthermore, Col Randle oversees the readiness and deployment of 5th Combat Weather Group assigned weather forces and $14.3M in capabilities to meet global combatant command requirements.  
 
Colonel Randle received his commission into the Air Force as a Weather Officer at Officer Training School in September 1999.  He has supported multiple Air Force units at the Wing, NAF, MAJCOM, and Air Staff level and supported Army units at the Brigade, Division, and Army Service Component Command level. He has deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM and served as the Commander of the 25th Operational Weather Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. His last assignment was as the Director of Staff for the DAF Chief Information Officer, Pentagon, Washington D.C.
