Lieutenant Colonel David L. Mack Lieutenant Colonel David L. Mack is the Deputy Commander, 5th Combat Weather Group, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. The group overseas two Combat Weather Squadrons comprised of 503 Airmen across 17 locations throughout the United States providing direct weather support to US Army operations. The 3d Combat Weather Squadron and 18th Combat Weather Squadron provide mission-tailored weather information to 2 Corps, 8 Divisions, and 37 Brigades to help plan, coordinate, and execute the supported ground commander’s scheme of maneuver. Furthermore, the group oversees the readiness and deployment of 5th Combat Weather Group assigned weather forces and $14.3M in capabilities to meet global combatant command requirements. Lieutenant Colonel Mack grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and enlisted in the Air Force in May 1993. He received his commission in 2006 from the Air Force Officer Training School, Maxwell AFB, AL. Lieutenant Colonel Mack has fourteen deployments in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM-Afghanistan, IRAQI FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, RESOLUTE SUPPORT and FEEDOM SENTINEL along with other operations conducted around the globe. Lieutenant Colonel Mack is a Master Static Line and Military Freefall parachutist and has earned both Republic of South Korean and Colombian parachutist wings.
