AFSO office pays for good IDEAs Published Oct. 29, 2009 By Tech. Sgt. Neal Harris 43rd Force Support Squadron POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- How does the Air Force spell relief during the recession? I-D-E-A - that is, the Innovative Development through Employee Awareness. The Air Force IDEA Program is an incentive program that promotes improvement on processes and/or resource savings through ideas submitted by military and civilian employees. Department of Defense military, civilian or contract personnel are eligible to submit ideas directly affecting efficiency and effectiveness of the 43rd Airlift Wing and the Air Force. Depending on the idea that is submitted, recognition or a monetary award of up to $10,000 will be given for approved ideas. The recognition depends on a few factors: the submitter's status and job duties at time of submission, type of idea and approval and if the idea has intangible benefits and/or validated tangible savings depending on implementation of the idea. Ideas can be submitted through the IDEA Program Data System the Web-based Air Force application used to manage the program. The Web site link is https://ipds.randolph.af.mil. For more information and guidance, visit the Community of Practice site at https://www.afkm.wpafb.af.mil/ASPs/CoP/OpenCoP.asp?Filter=AF-DP-00-06 or refer to AFI 38-401. If a more efficient way is found that the 43rd Airlift Wing's mission can be done while benefiting our wing and the Air Force, submit an IDEA. For more information, call the AFSO21 office at 394-2225 or the 43rd Force Support Squadron Manpower and Organization office at 394-2224.
