Chief Master Sergeant TOMIO P. BROWN, SR

CMSgt Tomio P. Brown, Sr is the Command Chief Master Sergeant at the 43d Air Mobility Operations Group, Pope Army Airfield, Fort Liberty, North Carolina. He is the senior enlisted advisor to the Commander on all issues affecting readiness, morale, welfare, safety, training, and professional development of the group’s eight squadrons and over 750 personnel. The 43d AMOG provides support to the XVIII Airborne Corps, 82d Airborne Division, Joint Special Operations Command, and the 2,900 Airmen and civilians from four Major Commands assigned to Pope Army Airfield. The Group is prepared to meet short-notice, humanitarian, and worldwide mobility taskings to secure national objectives and executes over 30 percent of all Joint Airborne and Air Transportability Training missions flown by Air Mobility Command in support of the United States Army. Furthermore, the Group provides combatant commanders with Airborne Joint Forcible Entry, combat airlift, aerial port, command and control, as well as other enabling capabilities.

CMSgt Brown hails from the U.S. territory of American Samoa. He entered the Air Force in January 1998 as an Aerospace Ground Equipment apprentice. He later retrained as a C-130E/H Flight Engineer in 2006. He is a Chief Enlisted Aircrew member with more than 3,300 flying hours, including 1,430 combat hours while occupying both instructor and evaluator roles. He has led at the flight, squadron, and group levels and has deployed in support of numerous contingencies to include Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, COMBINED JOINT TASK FORCE-Horn of Africa, NEW DAWN, CORONET OAK, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, RESOLUTE SUPPORT, and JOINT TASKED FORCE-INDOPACOM.

Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for an Air Force Special Operations Command Geographically Separated Unit.
