Newcomers

Visitors requiring a pass for access to Fort Bragg can now apply for passes online. The online pass process can only be utilized by personnel who are US citizens, have a valid state issued REAL ID-compliant driver's license or ID, and have a mobile phone.

After vetting, visitors will be sent a text informing them if their visit has been approved or denied. Visitors with a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or identification card may proceed to any of Fort Bragg's access control points to be scanned for access. Passes will NOT be sent via email to the visitor.

Passes may be requested no more than 30 days in advance and are only valid for the purpose of the visit (not to exceed a maximum of 7 days). Online pass applications are only processed during Visitor Control Center operating hours. It is recommended that visitors submit pass applications 24 hours in advance of their planned visit.

Are you new to Pope and unsure what services are available to you? Attend the Military & Family Readiness Center's Newcomers Orientation every other third Wednesday of the month. Attendance is required for AD and new DOD Civilian Employees; spouses are encouraged to attend. If you have any questions on how to attend call 910-394-2538.

Before Arriving at Pope
You should bring all necessary items, including paperwork and important documents, for duty with you in your carryon luggage. Your unaccompanied baggage will usually arrive 30 days after being shipped. If you have dependents, hand-carry some necessary basic living items with you.

Keep records of all expenses incurred during your move. Your current outbound assignments unit should provide you with a checklist of tax tips for your PCS move.
Upon Arrival
Once you arrive on base, report to your unit the next duty day. Unit personnel will give you specific information for in-processing with the Military Personnel Section. Finance holds in-processing briefings on Mondays and Wednesdays (excluding holidays and Wing Family Days) at 1000 hours in Bldg. 308. Please bring all attempted forms, orders, and a copy of your receipts.

The DEERS office is also located in the MPS office. This is where you can start your family member dental coverage, get identification cards and enroll family members into DEERS. It isn't necessary to in-process prior to visiting the DEERS office. Be sure to bring your marriage certificate, birth certificate, adoption papers and other legal documents on your first visit just in case they're needed. You should also have your family members' Social Security cards with you.

Base newcomers' orientation will be scheduled for all personnel during in-processing. Spouses are invited to attend. The Newcomers Orientation is every other third Wednesday of the month. Traveling to Pope
Flying: The closest commercial to Pope is Fayetteville Regional Airport. It is about a 35 minute drive from the airport to the base. Alternatively, members can arrive via Raleigh-Durham International Airport approximately a 90 minute drive.

Driving: If you are driving to Pope, there are several routes you can take to get to the base. The primary highway are Interstate 95 and Interstate 295 (Fayetteville Outer Loop). The primary entrance gate is the All-American Gate located off of Bragg Blvd.

Airborne Inn Lodging facilities are open to military personnel (all ranks/grades), their family members, guests, and retired military and their guests. You can make advance reservations up to 6 months ahead of time. Incoming PCS personnel may occupy guest house facilities for up to 30 days without loss of BAH. Outgoing personnel may occupy guest house facilities for up to 10 days. The Standard room rate is $45.00 + $5.00 for each additional person per day for all ranks. Please note that you are required to pay in advance for 7 days upon check-in. For information, call 910-396-7700 or DSN 312-236-7700. Airborne Inn Lodging Office is located in Bldg. D-3601, Moon Hall, on Darby Loop.

Reservations

You need to make reservations as soon as possible. You can make reservations 30 to 60 days in advance by calling 910-396-7700, ext 1711. You are entitled to 10 days of Temporary Lodging Expenses (TLE) during your PCS move.

Temporary lodging reservations are accepted 60 days prior to arrival. To make reservations, call the Airborne Inn at 910-396-7700 or the Carolina Inn at Pope Army Airfield at 910-394-4131. Pets are allowed but space is limited.

The Delmont Guest house only has 16 pet rooms. Families with pets should make reservations as soon as possible. If there are no pet rooms available and a family room is, the pet must be placed in a kennel off post. No Statement of Non- Availability will be issued if a pet rooms is not available. There is a $41.00 non-refundable pet fee, and $6.00 a-day for the pet at check in and all pets must have their shot records.

There is a Fitness center located on the first floor of Hardy Hall for all Lodging customers.
