The week encourages citizens voting under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act to register to vote or request an absentee ballot. Airmen can talk to their squadron and group Voting Assistance Officers for assistance in registration. The Web site, www.FVAP.gov provides information about voting registration as well as the latest information regarding June, July and August State Primaries and the General Election, Nov. 2. For questions regarding the registration process or how to obtain an absentee ballot, contact the Voting Assistance Officers. VAOs are standing by. Youth Bowling Clinic A bowling clinic is available June 21 to 25 at the Pope Bowling Center for children ages 5-18. The clinic includes 15 hours of bowling instruction, lunch and a $20 gift certificate for the Pope Bowling Center. The cost is $30 per child and payment is due at registration. The Pope New Parent Support Program is hosting a breakfast for dads and their children in the Pope Mental Health Classroom, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Children up to 10 years old are welcome. For more information, call 394-4700. Pope Regatta Pull out your paddles and start building those boats; it is time for the annual Pope Regatta. Legal Assistance Web site Legal Assitance Web site A new Web site, https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil/offers service members legal assistance. This Web site has three features. The Web site provides information about legal assistance topics that commonly affect military members, such as consumer affairs, family law, wills, or powers of attorney. Legal worksheets expedite service by allowing service members to fill out an online legal worksheet prior to visiting the legal office. Worksheet topics include wills, advance medical directives, and powers of attorney. To help the JA office improve their services, service members are invited to submit anonymous comments through the online survey. Note: No legal documents can be printed from this Web site. Video Competition The Air Force Safety Center is hosting a Critical Days of Summer video competition through July 31. The competition is open to the entire Air Force family including active duty, Guard, Reserve, Air Force civilians, spouses and children. Entrants may upload original videos to their YouTube page. Then go to the AFSC YouTube page and click on send a message. Within the message, attach the uploaded video from your page and provide contact information for yourself and/or the point of contact. The videos should convey effective ways to safely conduct off-duty activities, such as, but not limited to car/ motorcycle/ATV driving, use and handling of privately owned weapons, water- related activities or sports activities, home and child activities, weather, alcohol prevention, risk management, BBQ/grilling, and countering fatigue.
