Coining Pope’s Finest: Carl Cameron

Col. James Johnson, 43rd Airlift Wing, Commander, presented the Commander's Coin to Carl Cameron, 43rd AW/ Legal Office June 6 in the Pope Court Room for his exceptional work beyond the call of duty.

Mr. Cameron works in the legal assistance program at the Pope legal office. As the receptionist, he greets all clientele in a prompt and courteous manner. He prepares a wide variety of correspondence, reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, tracks all General Law suspenses, and updates and maintains office records.

In the past year, Mr. Cameron has maintained 100 percent accountability of more than 300 documents through his monitoring of the office suspense program. He provided excellent customer service, ensuring service for all personnel, to include making arrangements for disabled veterans who were unable to travel to the second floor for legal services. His diligence resulted in the production of more than 1,500 legal documents saving clients more than $76,000. He also assisted in notarizing of more than 2300 legal documents, including real estate closing forms and Immigration and Naturalization Service papers, saving Pope's clients more than $11,800.

Mr. Cameron flawlessly scheduled weekly will executions while managing shifting schedules, serving more than 480 clients, resulting in a total client savings of more than $100,000. His versatility proved vital in the execution of the 2009 buy-down plan.

With his assistance, the base legal office was able to purchase essential supplies and equipment totaling more than $10,000. Mr. Cameron's enthusiasm and work ethic is unsurpassed and is deserving of recognition.
