The 43rd Airlift Wing is holding a clean-up event to ease the transition to the post-BRAC end state. The 6S event is designed to assist units in reducing the amount of excess inventory they currently own and have in storage. The equipment will be collected in Hangar 4 on Pope and then offered to other Air Force units and all Army units on Fort Bragg for reuse.

The event covers two weeks, with the first being used for ADPE equipment turn-in. 43rd AW units begin turning in their items May 10, and will follow the schedule established by the 43rd Communications Squadron. Early shopping for these items opens May 11 at 7:30 a.m. for Air Force units only. Shopping open to Army units begins at 12 p.m. the same day and continue through May 12.

The second week of the event will consist of general turn-in to the hangar. Items accepted range from office furniture to supplies to small appliances and other excess inventory. These items will be available for early bird shopping to Air Force units May 18 at 7:30 a.m. Shopping will again open to all Army units on May 19 at 12 p.m. Pick-up ends May 20.

All drop-off and pick-up ends at 4:30 p.m. each day. All units on Fort Bragg are welcome to pick up equipment for their use. However, the 6S event will not be accepting turn-in from Army units and hazardous materials will not be accepted in the hangar from any unit.
