  • Published
Col. James Johnson, 43rd Airlift Wing Commander, presented his Commander's Coin to Master Sgts. Peter Lozoya and Davonna Chambers, 43rd Aerospace Medicine Squadron, for their exceptional performance beyond the call of duty.

The duo provided outstanding support as lead inspectors for the Industrial Hygiene portion of the external Environmental, Occupational, Safety and Health Comprehensive Assessment Management Program.

Sergeant Lozoya promoted to master sergeant under the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program in 2008, and was selected as Squadron and Group SNCO of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2009. He hopes to be assigned overseas for his next assignment, but is open to any new experience.

Sergeant Chambers is six classes away from completing a bachelor's in legal studies with a certification in paralegal. Upon completion, she plans to immediately begin work toward a Master's degree. Her goal is to open a private family law practice and later to be a juvenile and family court judge.

Off duty, Sergeant Lozoya enjoys bicycling, running, music, playing drums, movies, soccer, bowling and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Sylvia, have one son, Alex.

During her off duty time, Sergeant Chambers enjoys hiking, hot air ballooning, sky diving, movies, theater, reading, volunteer work and spending time with her family. She has one son, Jamil.
