Col. James Johnson, 43rd Airlift Wing Commander, presented his Commander's Coin to Tech. Sgt. Tawanda Debrill, 43rd Contracting Squadron, for her exceptional performance beyond the call of duty. As a Contract Specialist, Sergeant Debrill performs acquisition of complex service contracts and commodity purchase orders for the 43rd AW and Pope's warfighting partners. Sergeant Debrill's job performance can be highlighted in several occasions. She has performed meticulous surveillance on five major 43rd Medical Group service contracts of more than $3,000,000. While working on end-of-year requirements, she was able to maintain critical medical support contracts online for more than 5,000 military and civilian family members. Sergeant Debrill also had a direct effect ensuring Pope's warfighting partners are ready for the fight by purchasing $91,000 worth of training and operational equipment. She also completed a 100 percent overhaul of the Unit Deployment Manager program while her squadron's UDM was deployed. Off duty, Sergeant Debrill participates in Toastmaster's, a local speaking group. She enjoys spending as much time with her family as possible, due to the intense deployment tempo of the contracting career field.
