Net Defenders Published Oct. 29, 2009 By 43rd Communications Squadron POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Cyber security is a top priority in Air Mobility Command and at Pope. Airmen should be vigilant when it comes to network and information security. Recent events have caused an increase in network security demands requiring all Department of Defense personnel to take a more stringent attitude, and incorporate network security into day-to-day operations. President Obama recently issued a statement from the White House citing the importance of cyber security within the new era of increased cyber activity. In response, the Air Force has stood up a Cyber Command. In order to foster a more robust cyber security posture, all AMC wings are holding a cyber security day this month to focus our Airmen on their role as "Net-Defenders." Pope AFB Cyber Awareness Day is Nov. 5, and includes pop-ups on PCs when logging-in and informative videos embedded into the slide shows. For more information, questions or concerns, call Tech. Sgt. Anthony Pressley in the Wing Information Assurance Office at 394-2153/2487/4987.
