POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Medical Awards
I am proud to announce that the 43rd Medical Group won the U.S. Air Force Surgeon General Award for Best Clinic of the Year for 2008. This award encompasses all activities of the 43rd MDG. It serves to further illustrate the pride and outstanding professionalism we have already witnessed through their successes in the Health Services Inspection, Accreditation Agency for Ambulatory Health Care survey and our combined successes in the Environmental and Occupational Health Compliance Assessment and Management Program and Operational Readiness Inspection. In addition the following officers won awards at the AF level.
Maj. Alvin Barber is the David Gwinn U.S. Air Force Field Grade Physician Assistant of the Year
Capt. Marquita Price is the U.S. Air Force Health Care Integrator of the Year
Capt. Vincent Syers is the U.S. Air Force Clinical Excellence Company Grade Officer
To quote the AMC Surgeon General, "that is a lot of AF awards for a small clinic!" Congratulations to the entire Medical Group!
In addition to our Medical Group's success, the Air Force Medical Service also recognized two outstanding members of the 43rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. Lt. Col. Jennifer Kimmet won the Major General Barbara C. Brannon Nursing Leadership Award, and Capt. Vanessa Moses was named the Company Grad Flight Nurse of the Year. Join me in congratulating two of our Public Affairs warriors. Airman 1st Class Mindy Bloem and 2nd Lt. Chris Hoyler were recently recognized at the 2008 AMC Media Contest. Airman Bloem won 3rd place in Series Writing, and Lieutenant Hoyler won 1st place for Photojournalism and 3rd place in Sports Photography! It's great to see members of our team recognized for the outstanding work they do every day telling Pope's story. Lieutenant Hoyler should have great success at the AF level competition!
MXS Professional of the Year Award
I am proud to announce the 43rd Airlift Wing nominees for the 2008 AMC Outstanding Maintenance Professional of the Year Awards. These awards recognize Aircraft Maintenance Support personnel involved in off-equipment maintenance. Some of the sections eligible are; Maintenance Operations Center, Quality Assurance, Tool Room/Support Equipment Section, and Plans & Scheduling, just to name a few. Our nominees are:
