Wingman of the Week Published Jan. 12, 2007 POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Staff Sgt. Josh Armstrong, 43rd Mission Support Squadron Job description: The Manpower Career Field encompasses manpower and organization activities, with core competencies in organization structure, manpower requirements determination, program allocation and control, and performance management. Date entered military: Nov. 2, 1994 Reason entered military: I was looking for a direction and wanted to serve my country; the Air Force fit both purposes. Most influential in career: I don't have any one person. I have had the opportunity to work with many great peers and leaders. Short-term goals: To complete my graduate degree. Long-term goals: To continue my education and set myself up for retirement. What is the best thing about Pope, and why: Pope is very people-focused. I believe high morale increases mission effectiveness. If you could change one thing at Pope, what would it be and why: Reduce all "Pope-isms." All bases have unique missions and do things differently, but it seems Pope takes point on this; I feel we could potentially decrease a lot of self induced stress.
