Wingman of the Week Published Oct. 5, 2006 POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Senior Airman Devaron Headings, 43rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Job description: I'm an integrated Avionics Communications, Navigation Mission Systems Journeyman. I work on radios, radar and all navigation systems on the C-130. I also have responsibilities, as all specialists do, to help crew chiefs with towing, servicing, launch/recovery and jacking aircraft. Date entered military: March 4, 2003 Reason entered military: I wanted to be on my own, spread my wings, if you will. A bonus was obviously the education and medical benefits. Most influential in career: The individuals in my aircraft maintenance unit who have served as trainers and mentors. There is not just one most influential; it is a combination of my peers, supervisors, friends, and family. Short-term goals: I really want to become a flying crew chief. It's the best most honored job you can have in maintenance in my opinion. Long-term goals: I want to see the rest of the world and raise my daughter in a loving family. What is the best thing about Pope, and why: Having a wingman. I believe we really have a lot of teamwork. If you have the right Wingman with a positive attitude, it's easy to see through the negativity.
