On Thursday, February 1, 2024, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadets from Fayetteville State University, Duke University, University of North Carolina, and North Carolina State University, were welcomed to Pope Army Airfield to tour the 352nd Special Warfare Training Squadron. The 352nd SWTS trains and develops ground forces who specialize in the precision application of airpower. The cadets were provided a tour of the squadron’s museum and training facility, a briefing explaining Air Force Special Tactics and were led through physical fitness training by some of the squadron’s cadre. The cadets were invited to Pope Army Airfield as part of “Reach In To Connect,” an initiative of the 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group. Reach In To Connect was created to assist with finding ways to connect the local community with the organizations and service members located on Pope Army Airfield.
