Team Pope Highlight: Senior Airman Zhihui Zhang
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This Team Pope Highlight features Senior Airman Zhihui Zhang from the 43rd Communications Squadron. Zhang is a focal point for Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations for the 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group. Managing Spectrum Operations include allocating radio frequencies to various military units and systems, developing plans for spectrum use during exercises and operations and ensuring adherence to national and international regulations. In his primary duties, Zhang monitors and resolves interference issues that may affect communications and operational effectiveness. In addition to being a valued member of the 43rd CS, Zhang was also crowned champion of the Department of the Air Force Gaming League Summer 2024 Season for Teamfighting Tactics! He represented Team Pope and competed against Active Duty, Guard and Reserve Airmen and Guardians. As winner, Zhang was dubbed a “Grandmaster” for the game and received a jersey. Team Pope Highlight: Staff Sgt. Jorge Rodriguez
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This #TeamPopeHighlight features Staff Sgt. Jorge Rodriguez from the 43rd Force Support Squadron. Rodiguez is touted by his leadership as a pivotal leader in Pope Army Airfield’s Unaccompanied Housing Program where he ensures that quality of life standards are met for more than 300 transitioning #TeamPope Airmen each year. Of his many talents, his expertise in executing budget requirements, coordinating maintenance services and providing exceptional customer service. Last quarter, Rodriguez swiftly coordinated dormitory inspections and oversaw the submission of 144 service orders. These were crucial in securing $1.25 million in fiscal year 2025 funding for essential renovations. While accomplishing this, his supervisor observed Rodriguez’s dedication and leadership to significantly enhance the living conditions for all residents. Team Pope Highlight: Airman 1st Class Liam Damitz
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This #TeamPopeHighlight features Airman 1st Class Liam Damitz from the 43rd Comptroller Squadron. Recently, Damitz was awarded Senior Airman Below the Zone – a competitive program in the U.S. Air Force that allows certain Airmen to advance to the grade of E-4 six months early! He has been making an impact not only at Pope, but throughout his Air Force career. After being named a technical training school distinguished graduate, he came to the installation and created an infographic to aid Airmen going on deployments navigate their entitlements. In addition to his primary duties, he is also fancied a graphic designer! Working with the 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group Chapel, Liam designed the Chaplain coin to include a QR code to help connect Airmen with Religious Affairs services.
