2010 Endurance Relay and Strong Man Competition
Airmen, Soldiers, families and friends are invited to sign up and participate in the 2010 Endurance Run and Strong Man Competition April 29 through 30 at the Fitness Center. The run, hosted by Pope's Company Grade Officers' Club, is scheduled to include a 12- and 24-hour relay, a strongman competition and a wide variety of family activities to raise money and benefit the Air Force Assistance Fund. Pope Shirts Available
"Property of Pope AFB" T-shirts are now available at the Bowling Center, Frame and Design and the Pope Club. Shirts are $10 each and hats are $12. Visit to see the design.

Carowinds/Kings Dominion Tickets
Tickets for Carowinds and Kings Dominion are now available for $30 at Information, Tickets and Travel. The parks open beginning March 27. For more information, call 394-4478 or visit Bldg. 415.

Exceptional Family Member Program Family Movie Night
All EFMP families are invited to a Famiy Movie Night viewing of "Astro Boy" at the Picerne Community Center, 51 Sky Train Dr. on Pope. The event begins at 6 p.m. and refreshments are provided. For more information, call 394-4700. 

Spring Fling
The Spring Fling/Furry Friends Fun Walk is at Woodland Park from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. April 10. No registration is required for the Spring Fling. SARC/DUI Briefings
SARC and DUI briefings, which are mandatory for all Pope personnel, are April 14 and 15 at 7:30 a.m., 10 a.m., and 1 p.m. For more information, call the SARC office at 394-4551/2769.

Military Youth Football Game
Military youth and their families get in free at the 2010 Kay Yow Spring Red vs White football game April 17. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh. After the game, military families are invited onto the field to meet the players, coaches and staff. The event is hosted by the N.C. Operation Military Kids and N.C. State University Athletics. Wine Tasting
The Fayetteville Wine Society is hosting a charity wine tasting event to benefit the USO of North Carolina-Fort Bragg center from 6 until 10 p.m. at Fox Hollow Estate in Fayetteville on April 17. Golf Tournament
The 4th annual Gryphon Golf Tournament is April 16 at the Chicora County Club in Dunn. The four-person Captain's Choice format has two tee time choices of 7 a.m. or 11 a.m. The entry fee of $35 per person includes the green fee and cart, lunch, raffle ticket, goody bag for all players and a chance to win door prizes. PSA Scholarship
The Pope Spouses' Association invites dependents of active duty or retired Air Force members within a 50-mile radius of Pope Air Force Base to apply for the 2010 Pope Scholastic Achievement Scholarship. The three award categories include graduating high school seniors ($750 to $2,000 awards), continuing students ($750 to $2,000 awards) and spouses ($750 to $1,500 awards). To receive an application, contact the PSA at Include "Scholarship" in the subject line. Applications for high school students are also available through high school guidance offices. Postmark deadline is April 1. E-mailed, faxed or hand delivered applications will not be accepted.

DePLAYment Tags
Those whose spouse or sponsor was or will be deployed between July 1, 2009 and July 31, 2010 may be eligible for a special DePLAYment Tag that brings free or reduced price benefits for the family. For more information, call 394-1189.

AFROTC Scholarship

The Scholarship for Outstanding Airmen program allows commanders the opportunity to select outstanding active duty Airmen for an ROTC scholarship. If selected, Airmen will be discharged from active duty to pursue a commission through AFROTC. The scholarship pays for college tuition and fees, plus a textbook allowance. A monthly, non-taxable allowance is also earned during the school year. AMC has nine quotas for SOAR, with Sept. 15 being the established deadline for applications to be received at MAJCOM. Yadkin Road HOV Lane
The right in-bound lane at the Yadkin Road Access Control Point is now for High Occupancy Vehicles only. Vehicles must have two or more occupants in order to take advantage of this lane. The designated HOV lane is in effect Monday through Friday, between 5:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Drivers who violate the HOV restrictions will be turned around at the gate and will be subject to a $100 citation. Family Advocacy Program
Pope's Family Advocacy Program offers tools to build strong and healthy family relationships. Some services offered include a new parent support program, marital counseling, parenting classes, anger management classes, family violence prevention training, effective communication, sleep disorder management and stress management.
