Combat Weatherman receives Bronze Star
Master Sgt. John Robbins, 18th Weather Squadron, receives the Bronze Star Medal from Col. Patrick Pihana, 18th Air Support Operations Group Commander, during a ceremony Sept. 4 at Felker Army Airfield on Fort Eustis, Va. Robbins was nominated for the medal by the Army while assigned to the 18th Expeditionary Weather Squadron at Camp Victory, Iraq, from September 2007 to March 2008, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Robbins designed a comprehensive weather support plan, resulting in the integration of operational weather forecasts in to more than 700 named operations. Robbins said he was thankful to be nominated. “I did a lot of things I’m proud of,” Robbins said. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Zack Shelby)
