Ask the Doc Published March 19, 2007 By 43rd Medical Group POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Q: If I see a civilian provider and he/she gives me prescriptions, can those prescriptions be filled at Pope Pharmacy? A: The prescriptions written by a civilian provider can be filled by Pope if those medications are in our stock. If they are not, active duty personnel and their family members have a few options in receiving their medications: - Check with other military pharmacies for availability at no charge. - Use the National Mail order Pharmacy, at a cost of of $3 for 30 days of generic medication and $9 for 30 days of brand medication for family members and no cost for active duty personnel. - Tri-Care Network Pharmacy (a local civilian pharmacy) with co-pays of $3, $9, $22 for a 30-day supply for family members, and no cost for active duty personnel. Please send your questions to askthedoc@pope.af.mil. We look forward to hearing from you!
