Airmen receive Articles 15

The following is a summary of nonjudicial punishments given by commanders under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in December. Please note that the punishments are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case. A suspended punishment occurs when a commander delays imposing all or any portion of a punishment. This provides both an observation period and an incentive for good behavior as the suspended punishment can be imposed at a later date if the member's misconduct continues. 

A senior airman from the 2nd Airlift Squadron received an Article 15 for the misuse of his government travel card. The punishment was a reduction to the grade of airman 1st class and a reprimand. 

An airman from the 43rd Logistics Readiness Squadron received an Article 15 for twice failing to go to his appointed place of duty at the prescribed time and for tampering with the fire detection device in his dorm room. The punishment was a reduction to the grade of airman basic, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand. 

A senior airman from the 3rd Aerial Port Squadron received an Article 15 for drunken driving and reckless driving (driving more than 100 mph in a 55 mph zone). The punishment was a reduction to airman 1st class, suspended forfeiture of $846 pay per month for two months, 10 days extra duty and a reprimand. 

A staff sergeant from the 3rd APS received an Article 15 for the wrongful use of Percocet. The punishment was a suspended reduction to senior airman and a reprimand.
A senior airman from the 43rd Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for disobeying a noncommissioned officer. The punishment was a forfeiture of $429 pay for one month, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand. 

A senior airman from the 43rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for violating two general orders by possessing pornography in the area of responsibility and sending pornography using a government computer. The punishment was a suspended reduction to the grade of airman 1st class, forfeiture of $250 pay per month for two months and a reprimand. 

A senior airman from the 43rd AMXS received an Article 15 for drunken driving. The punishment was a suspended reduction to the grade of airman 1st class, forfeiture of $250 pay per month for two months and a reprimand.

An airman 1st class from the 43rd Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for indecent and lewd acts with other Airmen and disorderly conduct. The punishment was a suspended reduction to the grade of airman, forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months and a reprimand. 

An airman from the 3rd APS received an Article 15 for indecent and lewd acts with other Airmen. The punishment was a suspended reduction to the grade of airman basic, a suspended forfeiture of $200 pay per month for two months and a reprimand. 

A senior airman from the 23rd Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for wrongful use of marijuana. The punishment was a reduction to the grade of airman and a reprimand. 

An airman 1st class from the 43rd MXS received an Article 15 for damaging three residential mailboxes and drunk and disorderly conduct. The punishment was a suspended reduction to airman, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand.
An airman from the 43rd MXS received an Article 15 for being absent without leave for five days. The punishment was a suspended reduction to the grade of airman basic, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand.
