Register weapons

POPE AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. --  The following information is directed to all Pope personnel. The Pope Installation Security Instruction was approved by the 43rd Airlift Wing Commander Nov.9, 2006. 

Privately owned weapons are prohibited in all government facilities (other than base housing and 43rd SFS armory, building 378). Additionally commercial sale, purchase, and distribution of firearms on Pope are strictly prohibited. All personnel in possession of firearms must comply with all federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and military instructions on registering and bearing firearms, to include concealing, possessing and using privately owned weapons. 

All base housing occupants are required to register all privately owned weapons with the 43rd SFS at Pass & Registration 394-1118. 

Storage of privately owned weapons in dormitories and/or temporary living facilities on Pope is prohibited. Owners of weapons who reside in dormitories or temporary living quarters must store their weapons and ammunition in the 43rd SFS armory.
