Yard sales
Q: I was told by base housing I cannot put signs out for a yard sale. How effective of a yard sale can you have without advertising it?
A: Thank you for your call. Feedback is very important to improving the quality of life in Family Housing, and I appreciate you taking the time to provide input regarding advertising for yard sales.
Pope's housing regulation states that yard sales are permitted on a case-by-case basis, and signs can be displayed on the day of the sale in front of your unit. Please understand that this policy was established in order to maintain a fair policy for everyone.
I feel the current policy contributes favorably to the base appearance standard. A great place to advertise your yard sale is in the Classified Ads section in the Carolina Flyer. The ads are free to all active duty military. There is a section specifically for yard sales.
