TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This week’s #TeamPopeHighlight is Airman 1st Class Adrian Long, 43rd Comptroller Squadron financial operations technician. Long works to ensure Airman receive their basic entitlements while leading two new Airman in his section. He has been learning the job and how to teach it to others. Whether he is making slides or finding a more hands on way, he is enthusiastic about teaching new Airman what he has learned. He also assisted with processing over 500 travel vouchers, which helped earn the office first in Air Mobility Command voucher turnaround time. When he is out of the office, Long likes to work out, play video games and basketball. TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: Senior Airman William Parker III
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This week’s #TeamPope Highlight is Senior Airman William Parker III, financial analysis supervisor. Parker deployed to Kuwait from October 2024 to April 2025. He won the Air Force Central Command Financial Management Cashier of the Rotation while deployed. The deployment taught Parker more about the impact his job has on the Air Force mission and he learned how to problem solve on his own. In his personal life, he enjoys spending time with his family, but he also enjoys competing against his son to see who can earn the most certificates – he from the military and his son from school. TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: Elenah Kelly
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This week’s #TeamPopeHighlight is Elenah Kelly, 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group chief of integrated prevention. Kelly serves as the chief of integrated prevention while also being in the Air Force Reserve. Kelly recently retired from the Air Force Reserve as a lieutenant colonel. She balanced her reserve duties with her civilian job on Pope Army Airfield. She served in the reserve for 13 years after serving on active duty for seven years and took a four-year break from service to raise her children. Her career has been centered around her hometown of Fayetteville, N.C. Her active-duty assignment and part of her reserve career has been served at Pope. During her free time, she likes to observe nature, work as a youth pastor and volunteers with her sorority Zeta Phi Beta. Reason for Joining: Secure financial future Hometown: Fayetteville, N.C. Hobbies: Observe nature, working with church youth and volunteering through her sorority

TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: John Shockey
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This week’s #TeamPopeHighlight is John Shockey, 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group chief of business operations. The office of business operations completes the functions of a civil engineering and contracting squadron. Shockey leads his team to provide facility management, project management and civil engineering actions to include disaster preparedness. His team liaises with the Fort Bragg Directorate of Public Works and contractors to enhance quality of life and constant readiness to support rapid global mobility. Shockey has worked on Pope during his active-duty career and after he retired. He worked on Pope Army Airfield in the Operation Support Squadron before moving into the business operation office. In his spare time, Shockey flies with the Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue, studies theology and recently joined the North Carolina Senior Games to maintain fitness. TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: Dr. Jeremy Richardson
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This week’s #TeamPopeHighlight is Dr. Jeremy Richardson, 43rd Force Support Squadron, flight chief of education and training. Richardson was recently selected to the Fayetteville Observer’s 40 Under 40 program due to his work in the community. Richardson works with local high schools as a mentor to give the students as many educated options as they can, whether it be trade school, military, college or whatever works best for each individual. At Pope Army Airfield, Richardson works to ensure that all Airman are educated, whether it be through their Air Force Specialty Code skill level or college degrees. With his work in the community and on Pope, Richardson’s passion for interacting and helping people is his main priority and greatest fulfillment. While he works with helping service-members’ education, he makes sure to have time to read, workout and enjoy some chocolate covered almonds. TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: Master Sgt. Mavis Richardson
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This week’s #TeamPopeHighlight is Master Sgt. Mavis Richardson, 43rd Force Support Squadron development adviser. Richardson worked to improve the Professional Development Center by creating a distance learning version of the foundations courses and recruiting over 30 facilitators for the courses at the development center from across the 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group and tenant units for a unique and diverse team to teach courses. Accomplishing those actions and more, she won the Master Sergeant Kurt Dodd Development Advisor of the Year Award at the Air Mobility Command level. While working to improve the development center, she finds time to be a mom and study her faith. Team Pope Highlight
TEAM POPE HIGHLIGHT: This week’s #TeamPope Highlight is Airman 1st Class Ethan Legard, 43rd Communications Squadron client systems technician. Legard had a temporary duty assignment in Korea for Exercise Freedom Shield. Exercise Freedom Shield partners participants from U.S. military services and members of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. While there, he assisted more than 110 customers and fixed computer and network functions to ensure successful communication during the exercise was possible. Legard enjoyed traveling internationally for the mission. As far as his travels within the United States, he has completed 38 states out of the Lower 48 State Challenge.
